l’asemic writing, scrittura illeggibile, decostruita e ricostruita, svincolata
disciplina, l’indisciplina risulta armonica, elegante, raffinata: unique.
What is the art of writing? Francesca Biasetton answers
that question in a most fascinating and personal manner with two very short
texts and images of many of her seductive works of commercial calligraphy.
However, what really reveals the essence of Francesca Biasetton’s search for
beauty is a series of canvasses with writing that is illegible, deconstructed
and reconstructed, but where the words are devoid of any meaning at all. In
this asemic writing it is the free movement of the hand, the passionate gesture
that dominates the rules and also breaks them – but only after assimilating and
respecting them. The result gets us involved in an experience where writing
strongly asserts itself as a rich and articulated art interpreted by Francesca
Biasetton with versatility and rhythm. What emerges is a superb negation of the
mundane, where order and even severity are present. After the discipline it is
the lack of discipline that appears harmonious, elegant, refined and unique.
Francesca
Biasetton, www.biasetton.com, calligrafa
esplorazione estetica dell’asemic writing.
Oltre a tenere workshop e conferenze, è Visiting Professor presso
la Naba - Nuova Accademica di Belle Arti di Milano. Dal 2011 ricopre il ruolo
di Presidente dell’Associazione Calligrafica Italiana.
Francesca Biasetton www.biasetton.com is both
calligrapher and illustrator. Her creative work combines classic expressivity
with experimentation and her aesthetic
exploration of asemic writing is of particular interest. Among much else she
works with graphic marks, letters and symbols and she is convinced that
contemporary calligraphy is achieving increasing significance in contrast with
the uniformity that is so characteristic of our times. Besides her workshops
and lectures she is also visiting professor at the Nuova Accademia di Belle
Arti in Milan. She has been president of the Associazione Calligrafica Italiana
since 2011.
